As you know, we recently held a poetry competition for Valentines day. We had hundreds of entries, and we loved reading through each and every one. We're very pleased to announce our 4 lucky winners who took home either a goody-bag full of Valentines gifts or the top prize of 2 Champney's relax day spa tickets.
In First Place and winning the spa day tickets is... David Sayers!
"Two days to go and I’m stuck in my bed,
Critical man-flu has gone to my head.
How can I show her that she is the one?
Can’t trail round the shops with my energy gone.
Time is against me, I’ve left it too late,
To get her a present and ask for a date.
The answer is Prezzybox, it dawns in a flash,
Great gifts are delivered for not too much cash.
With a click of the mouse my spirits are lifted,

It arrives on the day, and my darlings delighted,

 The Second Prize was a goody bag worth about £130. And the winner is... Trevor Sherman!

Your bra, my boxers on the floor, The half an hour - and up for more!
But kids and nappies broke the spell As knackered into bed we fell
And teething toddlers, cheeks flame red
Would lie between us now instead.
But all things pass - the kids have grown
We're empty nesters, birds all flown
And nowadays it's me and you
That's something we've looked forward to.
And just like back when first we wed,
We still can't wait to get to bed
So Valentine - let's raise a toast
To doing there what we like most.
That's crosswords, telly, crisps and wine,
Rioja's perfect, Merlot's fine
A paperback and chocs are bliss
And as we fall asleep - a kiss.
I love you babe - I always will
And though we're way past youth's first thrill
You're stll the best thing in my life,
My Valentine, best friend and wife."
The Third prize was a goody bag worth about £100. And the winner is... Dee Gaynor!
"That day has come around again We singletons all fear,
And I was kinda hoping They might cancel it this year,
‘Cos I’ll sit by my letterbox With nervous apprehension
And end up like a nervous wreck, With rising hypertension.
Does anybody love me, Or will I be disregarded?
Will the postman need a helper ‘Cos with cards I’ve been bombarded?
I think I know the answer, A way of dealing with my dread,
I’ll crawl back up the stairs again And hide all day in bed!"
And last, but by no means least, in Fourth Place winning a goody bag worth about £70 was... Karolyn Holden!
